We created yAmi Translations as part of a fan translation community, hoping to allow access to Japanese literature for english-speaking people. We aim to share the joy of reading with our readers and expand the reach of popular Japanese fiction into the English-speaking community. This is an entirely free service, so please don’t expect too much.
yAmi
I took Japanese lessons for 4 years. After a few years of letting whatever I have learned rot away in my mind, I finally resolved myself to continue on the journey of the Japanese language. Watching animes, listening to jpop and reading Japanese translated LNs and WNs have been my greatest source of motivation for learning Japanese and now I really regret not putting in extra effort back when I was still studying. So that's how started self-studying Japanese again and trying out translating novels as a project to steadily improve my Japanese.
For anything important relating to the site or if you wish to join us*, please email me at [email protected].
* - if you think you want translate (and you are willing to learn Japanese) and wish to join this group for any various possible reasons (gain access to help, you want the tls to be hosted here, etcetera). MTLs alone is currently not enough to tl Japanese, so eventually the tler has to pick up Japanese. Also, if you think you can proofread/edit better us, feel free to join us.
